Uganda supplement (core baseline)

Read together with the core policy above. Covers: Uganda (default for all users until another approved market applies).

Access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and consent withdrawal under the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
Complaint to the Personal Data Protection Office (PDPO).
Pre-purchase disclosures (seller identity, total price, taxes, delivery, cancellation, returns) and 30-day return window per store policy, subject to mandatory consumer law.

Controller: Aidomex Group Ltd trading as Omfix — data controller, collector, and processor (processor on behalf of merchants). Privacy contact: support@omfix.store. PDPO registration and DPO appointment tracked as compliance tasks; no filing without authorization.

Regulator / complaints: Uganda Personal Data Protection Office (PDPO) — complaints via the PDPO's published channels. Sector regulators (UCC, Bank of Uganda, Ministry of Health, professional bodies) apply where the product or service falls in their scope.

Transfers: Hosting and service providers may process data outside Uganda. Cross-border transfers require assessed safeguards or consent; transfer status is tracked per market and unresolved transfers block market enablement.

Cancellation / refunds: Cancel before dispatch where possible; 30-day returns for unused items in original packaging; refunds to the original payment method. Statutory rights unaffected.

Legal bases: Contract performance (order fulfilment). Legal obligation (tax, record-keeping). Legitimate interests (fraud prevention, service reliability) balanced against your rights. Consent (newsletter, optional tracking) — withdrawable at any time.

What is a cookie

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. They help websites remember information between visits. Some information is also stored in your browser's local storage when you use features such as your wishlist.

Cookies we use

Omfix uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies that the site needs to work correctly. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not currently use third-party analytics cookies.

_medusa_jwt — keeps you signed in to your account. First-party, set securely with the HttpOnly flag, expires after 7 days.
_medusa_cart_id — remembers the contents of your shopping cart. First-party, HttpOnly, expires after 7 days.
_medusa_cache_id — a short-lived functional identifier used to keep cached page data consistent. First-party, expires after 1 day.
_medusa_locale — remembers the region or language you selected. First-party, expires after 1 year.

Browser storage

These features use your browser's local storage and remain on your device until cleared:

omfix.wishlist.v1 — the products you saved to your wishlist.
omfix.recently-viewed.v1 — items you recently viewed, to show them to you again.
omfix.announcement.dismissed — remembers that you closed an announcement.

Why these are necessary

The cookies above are necessary to provide the service you request: keeping you signed in, keeping your cart and keeping your preferences. Blocking them will stop essential parts of the site, like the cart and checkout, from working.

Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings. How to do this differs by browser; your browser's help section explains the steps. If you disable cookies, some features, including the cart and account sign-in, will not work.
